Dear Class of ’77,
It’s hard to believe but it’s been almost 40 years since we graduated! I hope it’s on everyone’s calendar to join us April 21-22 to catch up, reminisce and more importantly, renew those amazing friendships that we developed during our time at the College. Your reunion committee, besides having a good time, has been hard at work planning the details for what promises to be a fun weekend. Even if you transferred or left for some other reason, you’re still part of our class and we want to see you.
Briefly, here’s what’s planned specifically for our class:
- We’ll kick things off Friday at 7 p.m. when Dennis Does Dana. Continuing what has now become tradition, this will be our “Girls Only” night. Of course, the initial excitement of being together again will be the main course but there will be plenty of heavy hors d’oeuvres on the side. Spouses and significant others are encouraged to make their own fun by taking advantage of the hotspot that downtown Decatur has become. You’ll find a partial listing of nearby eateries on the back of this letter to help with planning.
- Saturday morning activities include our class meeting at 9:30 a.m. Be there or you might be elected to something you weren’t expecting! The meeting will be followed by Convocation in Gaines, lunch in Evans Dining Hall and our class photo at 1:45 p.m.
- Spouses and guests are invited to join us Saturday at 6:30 p.m. as Dennis Lights Up the Oval Garden. Following a brief cocktail hour, we’ll have dinner and then spend the rest of the evening enjoying each other’s company. Just in case you don’t know where the Oval Garden is, it’s the area bounded by Winship, Alston and where the infirmary used to be.
There’ll be many other things going on throughout the weekend. Departmental get-togethers and special academic classes for alumnae are just some of the options. Be sure to consult the College’s enclosed brochure to get the details for those opportunities as well as places to stay in Decatur or nearby. You can register online at alumnae.agnesscott.edu/AW2017 for all these events. To keep up with what’s planned and who’s coming, go to reunion-agnesscott.org. And if you haven’t made your gift to the College yet, go to give.agnesscott.edu. Don’t forget, we also have a Facebook page — Agnes Scott College ’77!
Most of all, your committee is really looking forward to seeing everyone. We hope you’re as excited as we are about the weekend!
