Even 15 years later, it’s still all about the ’0 and the ’3!
Alumnae Weekend is fast approaching. It’ll be April 20–21, 2018, so save the date NOW! Your class officers and I had a blast catching up and planning a fun weekend for everyone at the Reunion Boot Camp back in May. Since then, our reunion chair, Emilie Robinson, and the Reunion Committee have been hard at work putting the plan into action.
You will have many opportunities to network and reconnect with classmates and other alumnae starting Friday at the Reception for Young Alumnae (sigh, our last year) in the Science Center. On Saturday morning, we will have a class meeting to elect new officers (contact me if you are interested in running!). Saturday at 11 a.m. will be the Alumnae Convocation, where we will sport our spirit wear, followed by the Alumnae Lunch. Saturday night will be our class party, The (Poison) Ivy Circle Soirée. We have recently changed the party location from Presser Quad to The Hub in Alston Campus Center so we don’t have to worry about rain or accessibility. On Sunday, we will have a family-friendly party graciously hosted by Jelena Fordella and the Fordella family. Bring the kiddos! It will be tons of fun.
As usual, there will be a block of rooms at the Marriott Courtyard in downtown Decatur and the Emory Conference Center. Book early, though—they almost always sell out. Don’t forget about other accommodation avenues such as Airbnb or VRBO. If anyone who lives in the area is willing to host classmates for the weekend, please let me know.
Back in July, our fund chair, Kelly Williams, wrote to remind us all how important it is to donate, especially during our reunion year, to the Fund for Agnes Scott. Educating and empowering young women to make change in the world is still of such critical importance. We are paramount in helping Agnes Scott maintain that mission via our financial support. For those with a more competitive spirit, we won for largest contribution to the college this past fiscal year; and in previous years, we have won the Mollie Merrick Trophy for highest class participation. This year, I have a really good feeling that we could win both!
Want to start your reunion weekend party early? Consider donating at the Tower Circle Level ($1,500 for young alumnae) and join many of your other classmates on Thursday evening, April 19, for the Tower Circle Dinner!
Connect and keep up to date on reunion details via our Facebook page “Poison Ivy.” It’s all about the ’0 and the ’3! I look forward to seeing all of you in April!
